The environmental impacts of food are high-up on customers’ concerns, just after health and cost. The MFB have therefore put together the following Sustainable Business Code to showcase good practice in the City.

Signing up for the code will demonstrate to customers that you are committed to upholding high standards of sustainability. The code has a holistic understanding of sustainability, this includes the more ‘traditional’ aspects such as food waste and shorter supply chains, to broader social, health and economic aims. This is to ensure that those that sign up for the code are doing what they can for the residents of Manchester.

To sign up, your business must achieve at least 8 green measures, 4 amber and 0 red.

The MFB will support businesses trying to increase their score with literature and resources.
